The first night with our third child and first adopted daughter was
spent in a hotel room in Southern China. I remember laying in bed, listening to her breathe and being overcome with
gratefulness for all God had provided in our lives. I also cried at the thought of all the other babies we were leaving
behind. It was incomprehensible to me that there were so many children who would never know the love of a mother or
a father. I came to believe that with God’s help there was something I could do about it.
We have had
the privilege of coming across many, many kind people interested in our adoption story. There have been several families
who have come to talk to us about our adoption and have since adopted their own children. We have realized that many
people simply lack information about adoption. We believe that by opening the doors of information some families will
decide that adoption is something they should consider for themselves. Adoption is not for everyone, but it’s
a beautiful option for many who might not believe so.
We also believe there are ways to help for people
moved by the plight of the orphan and our biblical mandate to do something to help. It is for that reason we have provided
opportunities to get involved and make a difference.
